ABOUT
LOOSE CANON COLLECTIVE is a company of Los Angeles artists exploring classical texts in innovative, raw, and challenging ways. The company started as a collaboration between Beth Lopes and Jesse Sharp who created their first piece, The Hamlet Project, a condensed, comedic telling of the classic Shakespeare tragedy with added comedy, drinking games, audience participation, and a monthly rotating cast. The Los Angeles project soon spread to Chicago and later New York city, where productions are still performed.
PAST WORK
OR WHAT YOU WILL was an abridged telling of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night using music from the text with original arrangements composed by Matt Berger. This production was performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Green Show in 2013.
